Cones get tired. Especially if used for live stuff.

Good Question ! As OG noted,I think it really depends on the application they were used in.I've seen 604 and 515 cones (Paper Surrounds) 20159 cones 50+ years old that were still in great shape ! As the saying goes, "They Don't Make Them Like They Used Too".
........ and the environment. I've seen Altecs that were residents in coastal Florida that had mold on the cones and cabinet and surface rust on all the screws and exposed ferrous parts. At the same time i've seen and own examples from the southwest that look like new 40 years later............it really depends on the application they were used in.
Not all vegetables make good leaders.
